Happy happy joy joy

I've been meaning to post something worthwhile. I know I had a birthday, and there was St. Patrick's Day too.

But right now, I want to talk about The Happiness Show. I want to talk about how much I love it, even though I've only seen 3/5ths of an episode.

You need to go to the site, and click on an episode. Click on any one you like. If you watch nothing more than the awesome theme song, you'll be a lot happier.

And, if you go further than that, you'll have a good chunk of time just wondering, "WTF?"

And then, you'll notice the terrible production quality, and the totally dry dialogue analyzing happiness.

For the briefest of moments, you'll think, "This doesn't make me happy at all." But then, you'll realize, this is the funniest, happiest greatest thing of the day.

It's so wonderfully bad, so unbelievably dorky and so ridiculously well-intentioned, you just can't help but smile.

If you're lucky, you will actually run into a good idea. Like this one from Lionel Ketchian in episode 32, "How Thoughts Determine Our Happiness":

"I think, you know, there's a lot of components to happiness. But I think gratitude could be 90 percent of it ... If we don't appreciate this moment for what it is, then what good is the next moment? Because if this moment is empty and not enough, I guarantee you the next moment won't be any better ... Once you're in touch with gratitude, you're rich. You've stepped into the zone of happiness. "
Two thoughts to take home with you:

1. How awesome would it be to have a "The Happiness Show" t-shirt?
2. If you ever wonder what random internet item I might choose to post on this blog next, do yourself a favor, and just start reading Metafilter on a regular basis. It's where I found out about The Happiness Show, and it's become almost the only blog I read. And even though I'm reading far fewer blogs these days, Metafilter just keeps getting better and better (I should also note that I would have never heard about Metafilter if it wasn't for The Snark.)

You can do both dude. There's always those moments when you're waiting for the computer players to take their turns.

Man, I just saw Happy Happy Joy Joy the other day on the Cartoon Network or something. I forgot what an action-packed episode that was. Remember the planet of missing left socks? That was the same episode as H.H.J.J.

YESSS!

I still fondly recall their wandering, upper body suddenly detached from lower body! I love that episode!

Sadly though, I do not get enough dedicated Cartooner Network time in my life.
